Join Our Team! (Fall 2018)

WSF Recruitment Banner

The Women’s Studies and Feminist Club is an inclusive, intersectional club that welcomes folks from all backgrounds, experience levels, and communities to collaborate in making positive change. While we strive for our work to extend beyond campus, our executive team is comprised of University of Calgary undergraduate students.

If you’re a student looking to contribute to a social change organization we strongly encourage you to apply for one of our open executive positions:

  • VP Academic
  • VP Internal
  • VP Student Engagement

If  working closely with one of our current team members sounds more your speed, you can do that too! Our executive positions are non-competitive, which means more than one person can hold the same position. Though we have team members in these positions we encourage interested folks to apply:

  • VP Communications
  • VP Events
  • VP Finance
  • VP Education and Activism

Community members can also bring us their own special projects! Projects approved by the WSF executive team are lead by a Project Manager with the support of the club. Students who act as Project Managers are eligible for Co-Curricular Record credit!

For more information, check out the club constitution, the executive position descriptions, or drop us a line at wsfcalgary@gmail.com with questions!

2018 Murder Mystery and Fundraiser!

Join us once again for a thrilling evening of intrigue and mystery! We’ll be playing a wedding themed murder mystery game, so we’d love to see your best, or goofiest, or gayest, or otherwise favourite dress up outfit! We will start the game at 5:30pm, and it will run approximately two hours. Meanwhile, you can peruse the many exciting items in our silent auction, and enjoy complimentary appetizers and punch!

Admission is $5 and game participation is optional. Advance tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Keep up to date on silent auction announcements on the Facebook event page!
Silent auction winners can pay by cash, cheque, or (more realistically) email money transfer.

2018 Annual General Meeting

Contribute to the future of WSF by attending our Annual General Meeting! We’ll touch on the highlights of the 2017/18 year, vote on constitutional updates, and elect our 2018/19 executive team.

Anyone with a paid membership is eligible to vote and to run in the election. Memberships will be available for sale at the meeting (fees are by donation: minimum $1, suggested $5).

If you cannot attend this meeting but would still like to have your say you may choose another person to act as a proxy. You must inform the Chief Elections Officer of your proxy at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.

The Chief Elections Officer is Clare, VP Education and Activism.

For detailed descriptions of elections, proxies, executive positions, etc., please check out the club constitution or, for a quicker run down, we have a plain-language description of executive position.

Find the Women’s Resource Centre (WRC) on the 4th floor of MacEwan Student Centre, above the Wellness Centre and the Last Defence Lounge. The WRC Library is room MSC 484 in the University’s Interactive Room Finder.
